World Register of Dams

The World Register of Dams has been developed by ICOLD since 1958 and has been updated since then through the work of the Technical Committee of the World Register of Dams and Documentation. A general presentation of the register, the history of its developments, a statistical summary of the main data complete a search engine, the instructions for which are presented here. To search with the Register of ICOLD, it is necessary to have a personal access code which is available here.

The World Register of Dams is the best database of dams of any importance in the world and ICOLD is constantly working to improve it. For the most part, it is based on information provided by ICOLD National Committees. It is not possible to guarantee the perfection of the database. As a result, ICOLD cannot be held responsible for problems caused by lack of information or inaccuracies.
